Since 2001, Coat-A-Kid has coated over 5,000 kids.

Coat-A-Kid knows that our success is due to the generosity of our community.

  • We value each monetary donation that we receive, from the bake sale donations of $15.27 to the $10,000 Benefit Dinner donations.
  • We value the hundreds of hours that our VOLUNTEERS give each year to purchase coats, sort coats, organize hats and gloves, fill coats with hats and gloves, pack orders and physically put coats on  St. Louis kids.

You can help in so many ways. Although we appreciate donations of cash, new coats, hats and gloves, an hour or two of your time is invaluable to our mission.

  • An hour or two a week, a day a week, a couple of times a month; whatever you have to give, Coat-A-Kid can make it worthwhile.
  • Coat-A-Kid welcomes scout troops of all ages. We can provide service hour opportunities for award projects and we welcome Eagle Scout projects or Girl Scout Gold Award projects.
  • Some people just love to shop! When Coat-A-Kid is short on sizes-you get a call and go into action. Coat-A-Kid will reimburse you for purchases.
You can also help fill the following needs:
  • Sponsorship of meeting the needs of an entire Elementary School. This can range from 40 kids ($1,000) to 150 kids ($3,750).
  • In addition to our coat, hat and glove expenses, Coat-A-Kid must maintain its donated delivery vehicle. Upkeep and gas for the 2003 Volvo XC90 vehicle costs approximately $3,600 per year. We are looking for a sponsor for the vehicle. In addition to a huge thank-you, the sponsor will receive recognition on the back window of the vehicle.
  • Sponsorship of either of Coat-A-Kid’s two fundraisers. We have Campfire and Coats in September which can be sponsored for $3,000 and the Wine Dinner Benefit in February which can be sponsored for $8,000. Please email Brigitte Underwood for more information brigitom@aol.com.
